Current Understanding of Dietary Fiber and Its Role in Chronic Diseases

Raising the intake levels of dietary fiber may decrease the diagnosis rates of several chronic diseases, including obesity, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and cardiovascular ailments.

This study explored the impact of high fiber diet on the burden of chronic disease. Researchers utilized data and evidence obtained from eligible studies. 

Researchers noticed a decline in the incidence of colorectal cancer, cardiovascular disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and obesity among followers of fiber-rich diet. This study demonstrated that increasing the level of consumption of fiber-containing foods may be an essential part of a dietary approach for reducing the prevalence of several chronic diseases.
