Egg consumption and risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes: a meta-analysis.

​Generous intake of eggs may raise the odds of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the consumption of eggs and the risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease by meta-analysis. A total of 14 studies were included in this meta-analysis.

Researchers observed that high consumers of eggs were more prone to come down with diabetes and cardiovascular disease than low-consumers and non-consumers of eggs. The results of this study show that high dietary ingestion of eggs may accelerate the onset of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
