Vegetable Protein Intake was Inversely Associated with Cardiovascular Mortality in a 15-Year Follow-Up Study of the General Japanese Population
Consuming proteins from vegetables may help to slash cardiovascular mortality risk in men and women.
This study focused on the link between high dietary exposure to proteins from vegetables and the likelihood of dying from cardiovascular disease. Researchers tracked the eating habits and mortality records of more than 7,500 Japanese men and women without a previous record of cardiovascular disease for a period of 15 years.
Researchers found out that death toll from cardiovascular disease was low among participants with high intake of vegetable proteins. The findings of this study showed that adding more vegetables to our diet may significantly decrease our chances of suffering from death arising from cardiovascular disease.
