Physical activity and incident type 2 diabetes mellitus: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies
Adopting a physically active lifestyle may confer an individual with significant protection against type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of this study was to determine the risk of type 2 diabetes based on the level of physical activity. Researchers collated data and evidence extracted from 28 studies.
Researchers noticed that type 2 diabetes risk decreased appreciably among physically active individuals. Based on the data from this study, it can safely be concluded that engaging in physical activity may be beneficial for the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
