Association between dietary anthocyanin intake and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in US adults: A public database survey

Creating more space for anthocyanin-containing foods in our menu may increase our chances of warding off chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

This study validated the consumption of foods loaded with anthocyanins and its role in the prevention of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Up to 213 out of the 2,862 men and women who submitted dietary information were diagnosed with COPD during the course of the study.

Researchers found a low incidence of COPD among high consumers of anthocyanin-rich foods. The results of this study highlight the significance of dietary intake of anthocyanins in reducing the risk of COPD in men and women.
