Lifetime and baseline alcohol intakes and risk of pancreatic cancer in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition study.

Regular drinking of alcohol may trigger the development of pancreatic cancer.

This study evaluated the impact of alcohol consumption on the risk of pancreatic cancer. Researchers tracked the rate of alcohol intake and pancreatic cancer diagnosis among over 475,000 men and women for 14 years.

The research team discovered the higher the frequency and duration of alcohol consumption, the greater a participant's risk of developing pancreatic cancer. The results of this study support a positive association between alcohol intake and increased likelihood of pancreatic cancer.
