Association between cigarette smoking and mortality in patients with hip fracture: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Cigarette smoking may up an individual's risk of dying from hip fracture.
This study investigated the cigarette smoking-hip fracture mortality connection. Researchers meticulously analyzed data obtained from 6 scientific studies that examined over 3,500 patients with hip fractures.
Researchers noted that death toll from hip fracture was high among cigarette smokers. Based on the data from this study, it could be concluded that cigarette smokers may be liable to die prematurely from hip fracture.
