Coffee consumption and death from coronary heart disease in middle aged Norwegian men and women.
Consistent consumption of coffee is associated with high coronary heart disease (CHD) mortality risk.
This study examined the association between habitual consumption of coffee and the likelihood of dying from coronary heart disease (CHD). Researchers tracked the coffee drinking habits and mortality records of more than 38,000 Norwegian men and women aged 35-54 years with no previous history of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Researchers noted that coffee lovers had high probability of suffering from deaths due to coronary heart disease. This study adds to the body of evidence supporting the view that coffee drinking may put an individual at high risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
