Longitudinal Associations between Intake of Fruit and Vegetables and Height Attainment from Preschool to School Entry

High dietary ingestion of fruits and vegetables may help boys aged 2-6 years to grow taller.

This study looked at how the consumption of fruits and vegetables affects the height of children. Researchers examined the diets and measured the heights of 635 children from Denmark within the age bracket of 2-6 years.

Researchers noticed that children, especially boys, who regularly ate generous portions of fruits and vegetables were taller than their counterparts who consumed little or none of these plant foods. Evidence from this study showed that adopting the habit of eating fruits and vegetables may help increase the height of boys aged 2-6 years.
