Marijuana use and testicular germ cell tumors.
Regular users of marijuana may have a high tendency to develop cancer of the testes.
This study assessed whether the use of marijuana is tied to higher risk of having cancer of the testes. Researchers studied the marijuana usage habits of 187 patients with testicular cancer and 148 men free from the disease.
The team of investigators found a positive association between habitual use of marijuana and the likelihood of developing cancer of the testes. The results of this study show that frequent users of marijuana may be highly vulnerable to acquiring testicular cancer.
