Antidepressant use and diabetes mellitus risk: a meta-analysis.
The use of antidepressants may heighten the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
This study assessed the role of antidepressant medications in the development of type 2 diabetes. Researchers evaluated data from 12 studies that examined the use of antidepressants as a risk factor for type 2 diabetes.
Researchers found out antidepressant usage increased the probability of getting type 2 diabetes. Data from this study indicate that the use of antidepressants correlated with high type 2 diabetes risk.
