Patterns of alcohol consumption and breast cancer risk in the California Teachers Study cohort.

Regular drinking of alcohol may lead to a spike in breast cancer risk in women.

This study sets out to answer the question: does alcohol consumption increase a woman's risk of developing breast cancer? Researchers tracked the alcohol intake habits and health of 103,460 women recruited from the California Teachers Study Cohort.

Researchers noticed that daily drinking of 2 or more drinks heightened the risk of breast cancer. The results of this study suggest that frequent drinking of alcohol may give rise to breast cancer in women.
