Composite dietary antioxidant index associated with delayed biological aging: a population-based study
Optimal intake of foods high in antioxidants may delay the aging process in men and women.
This study comprehensively examined the effect high dietary ingestion of antioxidant-rich foods have on biological aging. Researchers analyzed dietary and health data drawn out from hundreds of men and women recruited from the 2001-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) Cohort.
Researchers noticed that habitual consumption of foods packed with antioxidants slowed down the biological aging process in men and women. This study suggested that individuals who want to enjoy healthy aging should add more antioxidant-containing foods to their diets.
