Inverse association between soya food consumption and insulin resistance in Japanese adults
Creating more space for soy foods in our diet may enhance our body's cells sensitivity to insulin.
This study assessed the effect of soy food ingestion on insulin resistance. Scientists from Japan engaged 1,148 men and women aged 34-70 years to keep a record of what they eat and their fasting blood glucose results for a period of 5 years.
Researchers discovered that avid consumption of soy foods resulted in significant reduction in insulin resistance and healthier blood glucose levels. Evidence from this study indicate that soy foods may help improve insulin sensitivity.
