Phyto-oestrogens and risk of prostate cancer in Scottish men
Sticking to a diet filled with phytoestrogen-ladened foods, such as soy foods, may help thwart the development of prostate cancer.
This study looked at dietary intake of phytoestrogen-containing foods, such as soy foods, in relation to the onset of prostate cancer. The study included 433 patients with prostate cancer and 483 Scottish men free from the disease who were surveyed about their diet and lifestyle.
Researchers noted that as the rate of consumption of phytoestrogen-rich foods went up, the risk of prostate moved in the opposite direction. This study suggests that men who want to minimize their chances of having prostate cancer should add more foods high in phytoestrogens to their diet.
