Association between dietary flavonoid intake and depressive symptoms: A cross-sectional research

Creating more space for foods loaded with flavonoids in our menu may boost our chances of warding off depression.

This study examined the relationship between high dietary exposure to flavonoids and the probability of depression occurring in an individual. Researchers charted the frequency of consumption of flavonoid-containing foods against the occurrence of symptoms of depression in a study population made up of men and women from the United States.

Researchers observed that consumers of foods high in flavonoids had low tendency to suffer from depression. This study suggests that individuals are likely to hold depression at bay by adding more flavonoid-rich foods to their diets.
