Causal relationship between dried fruit intake and frozen shoulder: Two-sample Mendelian randomization

Fondness for dried fruits may help guard against the occurrence of frozen shoulder.

A frozen shoulder is a condition characterized by pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint. This study was carried out to confirm the preventive effect of diets that favor the consumption of dried fruits against the onset of frozen shoulder. Volunteers for this study were recruited from the Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) Cohort.

Researchers observed that the propensity of a participant to experience frozen shoulder decreased with increase in the frequency of ingestion of dried fruits. This study emphasized the importance of high dietary intake of dried fruits in prevention of frozen shoulder.
