Meta-analysis of studies on breast cancer risk and diet in Chinese women.
Diets high in fats may promote the development of breast cancer in women.
This study evaluated the role dietary factors play in the development of breast cancer. Researchers conducted on a thorough meta-analysis on data extracted from 22 studies that examined 23,201 subjects.
Researchers observed a low prevalence of breast cancer in subjects with high intake of fruits, vegetables, and soy foods. On the other hand, increased consumption of fatty foods was found to elevate the risk of developing breast cancer in this study. The findings of this meta-analysis show that women who regularly eat in fruits, vegetables, and soy foods are less likely to develop breast cancer than those who consume high amounts of fatty foods.
