Positive correlation of hidradenitis suppurativa and ultra-processed foods consumption
Fans of ultra-processed foods may be highly prone to developing hidradenitis suppurativa.
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by painful nodules, abscesses, and fibrotic scars, mostly occurring in the axillary, groin, perineal, perianal, and inframammary regions of the skin. This study looked at the prevalence of hidradenitis suppurativa among consumers of ultra-processed foods. Researchers utilized data obtained from eligible studies.
Researchers observed a high incidence of hidradenitis suppurativa among lovers of ultra-processed foods. This study provided strong evidence that fondness for ultra-processed foods may be a contributing factor to the development of hidradenitis suppurativa.
