Meta-analysis of the association between the inflammatory potential of diet and urologic cancer risk
Fervent consumption of proinflammatory foods may trigger the development of urologic cancers, including cancer of the bladder, kidney, and prostate.
This study explored the proinflammatory food-urologic cancer connection hypothesis using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers compiled data from 83,197 men and women who took part in 12 studies.
Researchers discovered that subscribing to a proinflammatory diet drove up the risk of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer in men and women. This meta-analysis supports the notion that maintaining a proinflammatory diet may make an individual highly likely to develop cancerous cells and tumors in the prostate, bladder, and kidneys.
