Awareness of the Link Between the Consumption of Ultra-Processed Food and Colorectal Cancer Risk in Saudi Arabia

High dietary ingestion of ultra-processed foods may spur the development of colorectal cancer.

This study seeks to clarify if ultra-processed food intake can raise an individual's odds of developing colorectal cancer. Researchers examined the medical records and ultra-processed foods consumption habits of 802 men and women living in Saudi Arabia.

Researchers noted that participants fond of eating ultra-processed foods tend to have high propensity of acquiring colorectal cancer. The findings of this study support an association between increased ingestion of ultra-processed foods and greater risk of colorectal cancer.
