Dietary fiber, vegetables, and colon cancer: critical review and meta-analyses of the epidemiologic evidence.
Generous consumption of fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and grains, may help guard against the development of colon cancer.
This study examined the correlation between the intake of high-fiber diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains and colon cancer development risk by means of a meta-analysis. A team of researchers from the United States conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data drawn from 37 observational epidemiologic studies.
The research team discovered that regular consumption of fruits, vegetables, and grains diminished the odds of developing colon cancer. The findings of this study reveal that eating large amounts of fiber-containing foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and grains, may contribute positively to the prevention of colon cancer.
