Meta-Analysis of the Association between Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) and Colorectal Cancer
Elevated intake of proinflammatory foods may result in an upsurge in the risk of colorectal cancer in men and women.
This study was conducted to analyze the connection between following a high inflammatory diet and the tendency of an individual receiving a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Researchers performed a comprehensive meta-analysis on data and evidence drawn out from 15 studies.
Data analysis revealed a spike in the incidence of colorectal cancer among participants at the top of the proinflammatory food consumption ladder. This meta-analysis adds to the growing body of scientific publications that support the notion that maintaining a proinflammatory diet may favor the development of colorectal cancer.
