Meta-analysis on the relationship between alcohol consumption and lung cancer risk.
Regular consumers of alcohol may be highly vulnerable to lung cancer.
This study assessed the correlation between alcohol intake and lung cancer risk using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers analyzed data obtained from 31 studies that examined more than 100,000 participants and over 10, 000 cases of lung cancer.
Researchers discovered that regular drinking of alcoholic beverages, such as beer and spirits, promoted the formation, growth, and spread of cancerous cells and tumors in the lungs. The findings of this study support the theory that alcohol consumption may increase the risk of having lung cancer.
