Should we consider gallbladder cancer a new smoking-related cancer? A comprehensive meta-analysis focused on dose-response relationships

Cigarette smokers may be highly prone to suffer from gallbladder cancer.

This study conducted a meta-analysis on 20 previously published studies that documented the results of the association between cigarette smoking and the odds of developing gallbladder cancer. Over 5,000 men and women volunteered for these studies.

Researchers noticed a spike in gallbladder cancer risk among current smokers. This study pointed out that cigarette smoking may favor the development of gallbladder cancer.
