Legume Consumption and Cardiometabolic Health

Eating generous portions of legumes consistently may help guard against the development of coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular ailments.

This study assessed the impact high legume diet has on the risk of developing cardio-metabolic diseases, such as stroke, type 2 diabetes, and coronary heart disease. Researchers utilized data obtained from eligible studies and randomized clinical trials (RCTs).

The research team found a protective association between avid consumption of legumes and cardiovascular and coronary heart disease occurrence. The findings of this study suggest that following a high legume diet may be beneficial in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
