Physical activity of moderate intensity and risk of type 2 diabetes: a systematic review

Engaging in moderate physical activity, such as brisk walking, consistently may help to keep type 2 diabetes at bay.

This study synthesized evidence from previously published studies that focused on the association between regular exercise and the likelihood of acquiring type 2 diabetes. A total of 10 studies involving 9,367 persons with type 2 diabetes and 301,221 individuals without the disease were included in this meta-analysis. 

Researchers noticed that the risk of type 2 diabetes decreased significantly among participants who engaged in moderate physical activity, such as brisk walking. This study concluded that imbibing the habit of exercising regularly may confer us with significant protection against type 2 diabetes.
