Wholegrain Intake and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes: Evidence From Epidemiological and Intervention Studies

Indulgence in whole grains may help combat the development of type 2 diabetes.

This meta-analysis comprehensively assessed if eating a high whole grain diet is beneficial for the prevention of type 2 diabetes. Data from eligible studies were analyzed for this study.

Researchers discovered that higher intake of whole grains correlated with lower risk of type 2 diabetes. This meta-analysis supports the inclusion of whole grains as part of a dietary approach for the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
