Dietary Mushroom Intake and the Risk of Breast Cancer Based on Hormone Receptor Status
Adequate intake of mushroom may help guard against the occurrence breast cancer in premenopausal women.
This study analyzed the relationship between mushroom consumption and the incidence of breast cancer in Korean women. Researchers looked at the diets of 358 patients with breast cancer and 360 women free from this cancer.
Researchers observed that habitual intake of mushroom resulted in lower risk of breast cancer in premenopausal women. This 2010 study of Korean women documented a protective association between a high mushroom diet and breast cancer occurrence.
