Dietary Inflammatory Index and Its Relationship with Cervical Carcinogenesis Risk in Korean Women: A Case-Control Study
Choosing a pro-inflammatory diet may herald the development of cervical cancer in women.
This study set out to investigate the puzzle linking high ingestion of pro-inflammatory foods with the development of cervical cancer. Researchers recruited 764 South Korean women with cervical cancer and another 729 without the disease who provided dietary information via validated food frequency questionnaires.
Researchers discovered that cervical cancer risk went up with increase in the frequency of consumption of pro-inflammatory foods. The results of this study showed that generous intake of pro-inflammatory foods may boost a woman's chances of ending up with cervical cancer.
