Does an apple a day keep the oncologist away?

Eating an apple a day may improve an individuals chances of avoiding cancer.

​This study looked at the protective effects of apples against cancer by means of a meta-analysis. A team of investigators compiled data from studies conducted in Italy between 1991 and 2002. 

The research team discovered that apple lovers exhibited lower chances of acquiring several forms of cancer, including oral, pharyngeal, esophageal, laryngeal, colorectal, breast, ovarian, and prostate carcinoma. Data from this study support the notion that an apple a day may help to keep cancer away.
