Alcohol drinking and liver cancer risk: an evaluation based on a systematic review of epidemiologic evidence among the Japanese population.
A surge in the risk of liver cancer is associated with regular intake of alcohol.
This study assessed the relationship between alcohol intake and liver cancer risk in Japanese men and women. Researchers analyzed data and evidence extracted from 22 cohort studies. They discovered that regular drinking of alcohol increased the odds of developing liver cancer. The findings of this study indicate that alcohol consumption may be a major contributing factor to the development of liver cancer.
