Association between Dietary Anthocyanidins and Risk of Lung Cancer

Lung cancer risk could be reduced significantly by maintaining a diet that promotes the consumption of foods high in anthocyanidins.

This study investigated the lung cancer prevention benefits derived from dietary ingestion of anthocyanidins. Data on the dietary habits and health of more than 95,000 men and women were obtained via validated food frequency questionnaires and hospital records respectively.

Researchers observed that habitual intake of foods rich in anthocyanidins conferred individuals with lower risk of lung cancer. This study further emphasized the potential benefits of consuming anthocyanidins from food sources in fighting off lung cancer.
