Fruit and vegetable consumption and risk of esophageal cancer in the Asian region: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Creating more space for fruits and vegetables in our diet may help hinder the development of esophageal cancer.
This study looked at the impact of consuming fruits and vegetables on the burden of esophageal cancer. Researchers performed a meta-analysis on data culled from 22 studies published between January 2010 and December 2020.
Researchers discovered that increased intake of fruits and vegetables lessened the risk of developing esophageal cancer. This study provided robust evidence that high dietary ingestion of fruits and vegetables may exert a protective effect against esophageal cancer.
