Use of Dietary Fibers in Reducing the Risk of Several Cancer Types: An Umbrella Review

Consuming a high fiber diet may help shield an individual against different forms of cancer.

This meta-analysis reviewed the findings of previously published studies that evaluated the relationship between dietary intake of fiber and the likelihood of developing different types of cancer. Data from 11 studies were included in this meta-analysis.

Researchers observed that adhering to a high fiber diet brightened an individual's chances of fending off several types of cancer, including esophageal, gastric (stomach), colorectal, breast, prostate, endometrial, pancreatic, renal (kidney), and ovarian cancer. This study emphasized that individuals who want to hold cancer at bay should add more fiber-containing foods to their diet.
