Alcohol Intake and Oral Cavity Cancer Risk Among Men in a Prospective Study in Kerala, India
Regular drinking of alcohol may amplify the risk of oral cancer in men.
This study explored the relationship between alcohol use and oral cancer risk in men. Researchers asked 134 Indian men with oral cancer and another 32,213 men free from the disease to fill out questionnaires related to their lifestyle habits, including their alcohol drinking habits.
Researchers found out that men in the alcohol drinking group faced increased risk of oral cancer compared to their counterparts in the non-drinking group. The results of this study indicate that habitual intake of alcohol may promote the development of oral cancer in men.
