Association between processed meat intake and asthma symptoms in the French NutriNet-Santé cohort.
Habitual intake of processed meats can aggravate the symptoms of asthma in an individual.
This research work studied the impact high dietary ingestion of processed meats has on the symptoms of asthma. Researchers utilized data obtained from over 35,000 men and women with an average age of 54 years.
The research team noted that increased intake of processed meats correlated with worsening of asthmatic symptoms. This study adds to the body of literature describing the detrimental effect of processed meats on asthmatic symptoms.
