Ultra-processed foods consumption is associated with multiple sclerosis severity
Generous consumers of ultra-processed foods may be at risk of suffering from severe form of multiple sclerosis.
This study explored the ultra-processed food consumption-multiple sclerosis connection hypothesis. Data on the eating habits and multiple sclerosis diagnosis and severity status were obtained through validated food frequency questionnaires and hospital records.
Researchers noted lovers of ultra-processed foods tend to experience severe symptoms of multiple sclerosis. This study demonstrated that habitual intake of ultra-processed foods may favor the development and accelerate the progression of multiple sclerosis.
