Raw Garlic Consumption Is Inversely Associated With Prehypertension in a Large-Scale Adult Population
Adding more raw garlic to our diet may help curb the onset of pre-hypertension.
Pre-hypertension is defined as systolic blood pressure values of 120-139 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure values of 80-89 mmHg without the use of antihypertensive medications. Researchers examined the intake of raw garlic in relation to the prevention of pre-hypertension. The study population included 22,812 adult men and women who provided dietary information and whose blood pressures were measured regularly.
Researchers observed that lovers of raw garlic enjoyed significant protection from pre-hypertension. This study concluded that diets rich in raw garlic may help fight off pre-hypertension.
