Adherence to a Vegetarian Diet and Diabetes Risk: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
Strict adherence to vegetarian diets may offer individuals adequate protection against type 2 diabetes.
This study investigated the link between adherence to vegetarian diets and the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes. Researchers conducted a thorough meta-analysis on data extracted from 14 studies. They discovered that vegetarians had lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than non-vegetarians. The results of this meta-analysis reveal that adopting a vegetarian dietary lifestyle may reduce an individual's susceptibility to type 2 diabetes.
