Consumption of deep-fried foods and risk of prostate cancer.
Consistent consumption of deep fried foods, such as doughnuts, fried fish, and French fries, may increase the risk of developing prostate cancer.
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between high dietary ingestion of deep fried foods and prostate cancer risk. A team of researchers from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute reviewed dietary data from 3,041 male subjects and also estimated their prostate cancer risk ratio. They found out that prostate cancer was widespread among frequent consumers of deep fried foods, such as doughnuts, fried fish, fried chicken, and French fries. The results of this study suggest that high intake of fried foods may be a major contributing factor to the development of prostate cancer.
