Increased Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) Is Associated With Increased Risk of Prostate Cancer in Jamaican Men
Choosing a pro-inflammatory diet may bump up a man's risk of suffering from prostate cancer.
This study examined the relationship between the frequency of consumption of pro-inflammatory foods and a man's chances of developing prostate cancer. Researchers compared the inflammatory properties of the diets of 229 prostate cancer patients and 250 Jamaican men without a history of the disease.
Researchers observed that men who ate pro-inflammatory foods consistently had great risk of receiving a diagnosis of prostate cancer. This study supports the theory that sticking to a pro-inflammatory diet may propel the development of prostate cancer in men.
