Association between Ultra-Processed Food Consumption and Diabetes in Chinese Adults-Results from the China Health and Nutrition Survey
Lovers of ultra-processed foods are highly likely to become diabetic.
Can frequent ingestion of ultra-processed foods influence an individual's risk of having diabetes? In an attempt to provide answer to this question, researchers from China collated and evaluated dietary and health information obtained from 12,849 adult men and women aged 20 years and above.
The research team found out that participants fond of consuming ultra-processed foods had high probability of developing diabetes. Based on the data from this study, there is an unfavorable association between habitual intake of ultra-processed foods and increased risk of diabetes.
