The association between ultra-processed food consumption and chronic insomnia in the NutriNet-Santé Study
Fans of ultra-processed foods may have a high tendency to suffer from chronic insomnia.
This study determined the link between ultra-processed food consumption and the development of chronic insomnia. Out of the 38,570 French men and women involved in this study, a total of 7,482 reported symptoms of insomnia.
Researchers observed a trend of high dietary ingestion of ultra-processed foods among participants battling with chronic insomnia. This 2024 study of French men and women documented a strong connection between elevated intake of ultra-processed foods and the occurrence of chronic insomnia.
