Intake of Cruciferous Vegetables Modifies Bladder Cancer Survival
The odds of surviving bladder cancer may be in favor of patients on high cruciferous vegetable diet.
This study examined dietary intake of cruciferous vegetables in relation to the likelihood of surviving bladder cancer. Researchers tracked the dietary and mortality records of 239 patients diagnosed with bladder cancer for a duration of 8 years.
Researchers found out that a high percentage of bladder cancer survivors were regular consumers of broccoli. The results of this study suggest that greater intake of cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, may brighten a patient's chances of surviving bladder cancer.
