Dairy product consumption and gastric cancer risk: a meta-analysis.

Individuals who regularly consumed dairy products, such as milk, butter, and margarine, may have a high tendency to develop stomach cancer.

This study investigated the role of dairy products in the development of gastric (stomach) cancer. Researchers analyzed 33-year-old nutritional and clinical data from 1980-2013 obtained from 10 cohort and 23 case-control studies. They observed that generous intake of dairy products, such as milk, butter, and margarine, increased the odds of developing gastric cancer. The results of this meta-analysis indicate that high consumption of diets rich in dairy products may accelerate the development of cancerous cells and tumors in the stomach.
