Processed potatoes intake and risk of type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis of nine prospective cohort studies
Passionate consumers of processed potatoes may be highly liable to suffer from type 2 diabetes.
This study focused on the link between generous consumption of processed potatoes, such as French fries, and the likelihood of having type 2 diabetes. Researchers conducted an in-depth analysis on the eating habits of 383,211 healthy persons and 23,189 patients with type 2 diabetes.
Researchers noted that fondness for processed potatoes was related to elevated risk of type 2 diabetes. Evidence from this study suggest that high intake of processed potatoes may lead to the development of type 2 diabetes.
