Cancer risk based on alcohol consumption levels: a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis

Light, moderate, and heavy drinking of alcohol may lead to the development of different types of cancer, including laryngeal, esophageal, breast, colorectal, stomach, liver, prostate, and pancreatic cancer.

This study was carried out to confirm the cancer-promoting effects of alcohol. Researchers sifted through data drawn out from 106 studies. 

Researchers discovered that low, moderate, and heavy drinking of alcohol increased the risk of developing different forms of cancer, including laryngeal, esophageal, breast, colorectal, stomach, liver, prostate, and pancreatic cancer. This study further affirmed that alcohol at all levels of consumption can facilitate the formation of cancerous cells and tumors in different parts of the body.
