Plant-Based Diets and Disease Progression in Men With Prostate Cancer

Strict adherence to plant foods may help reduce the rate of disease spread, metastasis, recurrence, and mortality in men with prostate cancer.

Can plant-based diets slowed down disease progression in men with prostate cancer? This study sets out to provide answer to this question. Researchers followed 2,062 prostate cancer patients over a 6-year period, monitoring their diet and health.

Researchers observed that greater consumption of plant foods correlated with lower risk of metastasis, recurrence, and mortality from prostate cancer. This study suggested the addition of plant foods as an integral part of the management of prostate cancer patients.
