Smoking and nasopharyngeal carcinoma mortality: a cohort study of 101,823 adults in Guangzhou, China.

​Smoking may raise an individual's risk of dying from nasopharyngeal cancer.

This study evaluated the association between cigarette smoking and the likelihood of dying from nasopharyngeal cancer. Researchers monitored the smoking habits and mortality records of 101,823 men and women residing in Guangzhou, China.

Researchers discovered that subjects who were smokers faced increased risk of dying from nasopharyngeal cancer. The findings of this study reveal that high nasopharyngeal cancer mortality risk is associated with cigarette smoking.
